Large metal statue of a castaway. The statue is signed Waagen on the back - Artur Waagen (1833 - 1898) German sculptor. Somewhere he is also mentioned as a French sculptor who lived between 1869 and 1910, studied and lived in Paris, exhibited at the Salon between 1861 and 1877. The statue is very impressive and has a beautiful patina. The material is Zamak (zinc-tin), or artificial bronze. Date: around 1900. Condition: excellent.
